Inspiration…
Our family is preparing for a weeklong camping trip to Redfish Lake, which means lots of time on the beach! I already own a beach-friendly pair of flip-flops, but they are plain and with our upcoming trip, a new pair of sandals isn’t the budget. This didn’t stop my inner ‘hooker’ from getting to work, and I was able to round up the project supplies materials around the home. This quick and easy crochet project was perfect to add some fun and flowery flair to my flip-flops!
Materials:
- Medium weight (4 ply) Yarn in the colors of your choice. [Get the yarn I used here]
- 4.00 MM Crochet hook
- Scissors
- Flip Flops (Use a pair you have or grab a $1 pair at Old Navy, or Dollar Tree)
- OPTIONAL: Yarn Needle and buttons

Completion Time:
Will vary from person to person, but this project to me about 1 hour to complete.
Flip Flop Crochet Directions:
Step 1:
Single Crochet around the flip-flop strap and tie off at the end of the row. You can do each side separately, or in one row as I did below.

Step 2:
To add an accent color, do another round of single crochet to the previous round and tie off.

Step 3:
Add embellishments, in the form of appliques, buttons or flowers. I opted for 1 large flower utilizing a pattern by Very Berry Handmade.

Step 4:
Weave in all ends and you’re done, simple rights?
